The
Wedge
Its massing is intentionally dynamic, resembling stacked Lego blocks with angled and punched out volumes that create moments of surprise.

Playfully named The Wedge, this home explores expressive geometries and sculptural form. Designed for a young family with two children, the home balances everyday living with a sense of play.
A sweeping roofline defines the two storey volume, while quirky window placements animate the exterior, reinforcing its playful character. The design is organised around a hierarchy of volumes: primary spaces rise as the two storey bedroom block, while secondary spaces extend at ground level to accommodate the kitchen and living areas.
White muted brick forms the primary exterior. Though materially robust, the façade feels light and grounded. Cedar is introduced as a secondary cladding, emphasizing the contrasting forms while complementing the palette.
Internally, the spatial arrangement avoids predictability. Circulation is defined as a sequence of moments shaped by the interplay of angles and subtle level changes. The open kitchen is inviting and positioned to maximise the outdoor living space, while the sunken lounge is carved into the volume to optimise space and opens onto the reserve behind the dwelling, anchoring the home within its landscape.
The Wedge embodies a spirit of imagination, creating a home full of character with spaces as engaging and adaptable as the family who inhabit it.
