We are proud to celebrate the unveiling of 'Yellow Post', the winning project of the 2025 Brick Bay Folly competition, designed and built by a talented team of architectural graduates, including our very own Henry Mabin!

Greeting you as you enter the Brick Bay Property, 'Yellow Post' is a striking 11 metre high lattice of timber and fabric panelling, signalling the arrival and departure for visitors. The team were inspired by paintings of traditional Māori hākari, built from kauri and pūriri, these scaffold structures were used as markers of congregation, celebration and ceremony.

We were excited to celebrate Henry’s work at the official opening in May with our Auckland Studio team, and part of our Christchurch contingent. Special mention to the rest of the project team; Oliver Prisk + André Vachias of Jasmax, and George Culling of INC Group, all graduates of Victoria University of Wellington. The team lived and worked on-site to fabricate and assemble the structure, supported by ex-classmate and building apprentice Elliot Western.
